It’s been awhile…

I would much rather be blogging, I assure you :)  I have been MIA for awhile as we have been in the process of moving across the state and have had two deaths in the family in less than two weeks.  For those of you who have been waiting patiently for your sneak peek, I sincerely apologize, I am hoping that life will soon be back to normal so that I can continue to share the sweetness with you!  Because of my current schedule and recent events I no longer have any availability for June, I am currently booking July sessions in Spokane ONLY and openings are very limited, so if you are interested in a July session please contact me as soon as possible!  Business aside, I would love to introduce baby “P”, he was such a sweetie and at 15 days old he was a dream to work with!  Thanks so much to his beautiful parents who allowed me to capture this very special time!

Baby love…

Yesterday my husband and I went to see our little peanut on ultrasound.  We had decided beforehand that we were not going to find out the sex my husband wanted the surprise of learning the gender at birth and he knew that with my big mouth and lack of self control I would ruin the surprise if I knew.  I am the sort of person that has to buy gifts the day before so I don’t ruin the surprise, I CAN’T handle the suspense!  So we went through the ultrasound, we turned our heads away when she had to check the little parts below (and I didn’t peek!) we made it through the ultrasound and I had exercised perfect self control.  In fact, my daughter was so proud of me that while the tech wiped the slippery goo from my belly she said “Good job mommy!  You’re a good girl!”  and then she kissed my arm (she’s 2 ;).  We made it home and picked up my son from school, I was so excited to share the DVD of the ultrasound with him, he’s 5 and I don’t think he quite wraps his mind around this whole “baby in mommy’s belly” thing.  Anyhow, we popped in the DVD and BOTH my husband and I couldn’t help ourselves, we kept looking for “the shot” hoping the tech accidentally caught the angle just right (as if we could even read an ultrasound, LOL!) we watched it 5 times!  At this point my husband knew I was dying to know (and I think secretly he was to!) so he told me to go ahead and call.  He admitted that he totally wanted to know and wouldn’t be upset about ruining the surprise.  So, like an excited little girl on Christmas morning I dialed up the office and put it on speaker phone and…

IT’S A BOY!!

We’re so excited and if I can figure out (or if someone can teach me) I would love to download the ultrasound DVD so we can share it with our Opa and Omi in Germany.

Ok, so on to the photos, I know that’s why you’re really here ;)  This sweet little baby love was sooo content, even if he wasn’t about to give me my sleepy pics (we still snuck a few in), he was perfectly content awake, so why mess with a good thing?  Baby “J’s” mom waited for the surprise of his gender till the day he was born.   Alisa, you’re my hero!  Maybe you can teach me some self control;)

Emotional

The other day my children were watching the new Disney movie “Tinkerbell”.  I realized that my hormones were experiencing some “technical difficulties” when I was reduced to tears as Tinkerbell saved the day.  Dog food commercials have also been known to wreak emotional havoc as of recent.  This is baby #3 for me and I just don’t remember being this emotional with my other pregnancies, I remember being in labor with my first and my mother was regretting not having a video camera, not because of the miracle of birth but because of the apparent stand up comedian performance I was giving, joking, laughing (if you have had really bad labors it’s ok if you want to hate me for this;).  I guess all pregnancies are different I just wasn’t expecting “good day” “bad day” to change so frequently for me with this one, it caught me off guard.  I must admit though I have been getting my baby fix lately while I’m waiting for my little bun to arrive and this has definitely given me my “best” days, I LOVE newborn photography and have been thrilled at the baby boom amongst my friends, because seriously, how can you be down when you get to be around this…

And this…well…this just makes me smile :)

Definitely worth the wait/weight ;)
